Default Some of my character drawings...

Alright, I've finally got my scanner working. So I'll post a few of my character drawings here, with more on the way as I get them done/scanned.

Comments/Criticism welcomed! I'm always looking to improve my technique. Also, I want to learn how to color my drawings in Photoshop, so if someone can point me in the direction of a few pointers or a tutorial for methods on how to do that, it would be much appreciated!

Here we go, this is my main character, and my wife's main character:

Countess of Carnage & Lady Aalleyn

EDIT: I forgot to mention, Lady Aalleyn is kinda incomplete, as I was planning on having her holding a bow. I'll get around to it, eventually

Dude!! i love them, only thing i have critique wise is the necros legs are a tad bit short, shoulda let them run off the page, pluss things are more interesting that way eh? but still.. wanna do one of my chars :P

and the ranger looks nice as is, i love the serious look

Yeah, I agree. Although, for some reason, I can't really tell in the physical drawing, only in the scanned version. I'm wondering if something happened, I dunno. I think the proportions seem a bit off, though. That necro was my first drawing in a long time, and it always seems that I'm a bit rusty when I haven't been drawing in a while.

If you want to sned me a picture of one of your chars, I'll see what I can do, can't promise that it'll be any time soon, since I'm planning on drawing my Ritualist and my wife's Necro, as well.

Thanks for the comments!

They seem dwarfed (Out of proportion) but other then that they're awesome.

Thanks, everyone! Alright, I resized the horizontal of my Countess of Carnage so it looks a little more correct, and I colored it (first complete photoshop coloring). Let me know what ya guys think!

Very nice job with the clothing aspects in particular! As for someones dwarfing comment, I see it mainly in the legs, but im also fairly certain there are a good number of people in real life with that style of body and are not considered 'dwarfed' so, whatever :P May just be how you like to draw women. Anyways, for your nec, between the two, I sorta wish you had left some more of the drama on her face when you went to color, because it seemed to be toned down in that colored version. It was a very neat, dramatic expression with your (im assuming pencil?) drawing. All in all, very nice job

I think your shins and forearms are just too short. Are you trying to fit them on a specific paper size? that kind of thing happens to me a lot, thats why i draw on big paper now. ^^

Very nice shading style. More please

Masterful Indeed...
The drawing is great, and the coloring is stunning.

Even arcanemacabre couldn't do as good as you.

Thanks for the compliments, guys!

lyra_song: Yeah, I'm actually only drawing on printer paper right now, cause it's the most readily available thing I have up here at work . I've got an old art pad at home, I might try some stuff on that, good idea.

Seban Anu: I agree with you on her expression, I might try to go back and fix that. I originally thought the face just didn't have enough detail, as the drawing is small and there's only so much detail I can put into such a small area. But going back and looking at the original, I see what you're saying. The face seemed rough, jagged, and evil. Fit her 'personality'.

As for the short/stubbiness of the necro, and also the ranger to some extent, I think my problem was trying to apply a lifelike human figure to the exaggerated proportions of the GW figures. Normally, it would still look right, but the problem came once the armor was introduced. The armors are made for the more Barbie-esque figure, and when applied directly to a lifelike model, it looks way out of proportion.

I just finished drawing my Ritualist and I think it's definately much better than these two. She's got longer legs and arms, a thinner waist, and of course, to match the in-game Rit, a larger bust . When I'm done coloring this one, I'll post it, which will hopefully be within the next day.

Alright, here is my latest... My Ritualist, Lin Shui Yao:

&

As you can tell, I tried something different with her. No pencil shading, just straight Photoshop coloring. I'm trying to get used to it, though I don't like the outcome. Ended up a little too cartoony for my taste.

I like the way you've captured the wind in the ranger one. It makes it look that much more alive.

Fantastic drawings ^^
